| Dear colleagues and friends, |

| I heartily welcome aboard our new web site which has
now a different name, more capacity and a radically new format from
our previous and now extinct site. To bring forth such a difficult
endeavor, dedicated team work and sound technical knowledge was needed.
I have no hesitation in showering kudos to Dr. Balagopal.V & Dr.
Natarajan of AOI Cochin chapter and their technical team for doing
it in a time bound manner and in such an excellent way. This is a
fully programmed dynamic website with a ‘front end’ visible
to all those who visit the website and a fully programmed ‘backend’
. The backend makes life easier for anyone who administers the website
as he can easily add new members, edit member details, put up new
notices, update event box, etc. very easily. We have strived to give
the website an official look of international standing, avoiding flashy
animations and bold colors. Don’t get deceived by its simple
looks as it has got powerful programming in PHP as its backbone. |
| As for association matters, communication has been
sent to all chapters by our secretary to send in their reports of
activities for the year 2006- 2007( April to March) for the purpose
of determining the best chapter award for the said period, to be given
away during the State & South zone conference at Thiruvananthapuram. |
| I fervently hope that discussions were held in the
various chapters regarding the draft of the constitution of AOI Kerala.
If not, I implore you all , especially presidents and secretaries
of all the chapters , to do so at the earliest. |
| The mailing list of our association looks formidable,
but the list of life members is definitely pathetic in comparison.
It should be the effort of the office bearers of various chapters
to induce and induct new members to the association fold. |
| Let me wish all of you and your family members a Happy
Onam 2007 and a joyful rendezvous at our next conference in Thiruvananthapuram. |
